Making art accessible to everyone in our community! Our very first inclusive event for the visually and hearing impaired. Featuring live music by “Half Asian + Amy the CODA” followed by the movie “WONDER” which will include closed captioning and audio descriptive headsets. This event is by donation and will go toward funding future inclusive events at KPAC!
HALF/ASIAN + Amy the CODA is a mixed race (Cantonese/British) musician making retro-synth pop on an 80’s synth and a Child Of Deaf Adult singing the lyrics in her mother tongue; sign language. @halfasianwithamythecoda
This will be our first KPAC movie night to utilize our newly acquired Audio Descriptive headsets. This equipment allows the visually impaired to enjoy our movie nights along with other patrons and was funded with the help of Dawson Creek Society for Community Living , @dawsoncoop & our incredible community! Our movie license has also been generously donated by Lakeview Credit Union @lvcucommunity !
WONDER (2017) PG:
“Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade.”
